Jermyn Street: A London Classic for Cooler Days

A hand holding a bottle of Jermyn Street

As the weather grows colder and the nights draw in, many of us put away our refreshing, light summer scents in favour of something richer and more opulent.

If you enjoy the citrusy top notes that are synonymous with the warmer months, but are looking for a fragrance to effortlessly take you into autumn and winter, Jermyn Street is a fine choice, replete with understated class and enduring style.

Read on and find out more about what makes Jermyn Street Eau de Parfum so special.

Jermyn Street: A Classic Fragrance Designed For All Seasons

Jermyn Street opens with fresh and buoyant top notes of bergamot and mandarin, underpinned by soft, powdery notes of violet, making us reminisce about warm, happy spring and summer days.

The spicy heart notes of coriander and vetiver, alongside peppery juniper berries, add herbal complexity, crispness, and warmth that complement the cooler days and darker nights.

Finally, the heart notes give way to a sweet, resinous amber, earthy cedarwood and velvety musk base; sumptuous scents that are associated with winter and colder weather.

Jermyn Street is truly a versatile fragrance, as well-suited on balmy summer nights as it is cosy evenings in front of a roaring log fire, refreshing drink in hand.

A Refined Scent With a Rich History

Store frontage of 89 Jermyn Street

Jermyn Street is named in honour of our store at 89 Jermyn Street, our home for over 300 years.

Floris founder Juan Famenias Floris and his wife Elizabeth moved here in 1730, where they sold perfume, combs, and shaving products, living above the store.

The street itself, nestled in the elegant and historic St James’s district, took its name from Henry Jermyn, 1 st Earl of St Albans, who developed the area and is known as “The Founder of the West End”.

While Jermyn Street is steeped in the tradition of its namesake, it’s also a modern scent full of charm and sartorial style.

Kit Connor, star of Heartstopper and Rocketman, included it as one of his daily essentials in Vogue’s In the Bag interview, praising its subtlety and elegance.

Why should you change your fragrance with the seasons?

Changing your fragrance with the seasons can reduce the chance of nose-blindness, where you no longer notice your fragrance as you have become so used to it.

The changing seasons can also affect how particular scents perform. For example, citrus and marine fragrances work well in summer as they dissipate cleanly in the heat without being overpowering.

Conversely, heavier scents like amber and cedarwood are ideal choices for winter as they are denser, meaning they project better in the cold, dry air.
