Floris has artfully been creating fragrance for ladies almost 300 years, always a la mode, Floris has ensured that the fragrances are in keeping with the times. Use of lavender, rose and jasmine has been universally loved ingredients, but featured prominently in 18th-century fragrance.
The 19th century continued a love affair with floral notes and the introduction of some more complex and powdery compositions of Iris and Violet.
By the 20th century a shift towards fresher and cleaner aquatic, woody and green notes. Today we see a shift towards natural ingredients and a return to floral fascination.

The Rose is perhaps the most defining note in fragrance, used by ancient civilizations through to the modern day. The rose symbolises love, beauty and purity. Today the flower is a cornerstone of in the world of fragrance, the flower has a spectrum from fresh and dewy to rich and velvety. Floris has several iterations of the scent; Floris’s White Rose is one of the earliest creations and was beloved by Florence Nightingale.
White Rose was originally created in the early 1800s. It was crafted at our Jermyn Street shop in London by Mr. John Floris. The fragrance was a favourite of Florence Nightingale, she requested to have bottles shipped to her throughout the Crimean War. Naval hero, Lord Nelson, famously coined the phrase, "England expects that every man will do his duty" and is reported to have bought the scent for his mistress Lady Hamilton, who once lived upon 89 Jermyn St.
Reinvigorated for the modern era, the new scent, is confident and modern, self-assured and warm, an elegant contradiction of silk and spice.

Drawing inspiration from this sumptuous syrup, Floris has crafted a fortifying fragrance, capturing the essence of this revered natural substance.
The piquancy of the honey emerges first with subtle vanilla undertones, before leading into the oud heart note as it settles on the skin. A gourmand accord of English honey and vanilla combine to add a velvet softness to the oud oil. Combined, they accentuate the subtle rose at the heart of this complex fragrance.

Lily of the Valley is cherished for its sweet intensity, delicate bell-shaped blooms, clean, fresh and powdery it is a truly a wonderous experience, to smell the open bloom on a May spring day is enchanting. Traditionally, garlands of blooms were woven into wedding day bouquets. Beloved through the ages, Floris Lily is a contemporary interpretation of the flower.
Inspired by the Lily of the Valley flower, the perfumer sought to preserve its natural state. The dewy freshness of the blooms is enhanced with a flourish of Egyptian jasmine and Bulgarian rose. The sparkling white tea notes give a clean effect while the reassuring woody, musky dry-down leaves a soft warmth on skin.

The word Cefiro is the Spanish word for zephyr, meaning a gentle breeze. Crisp lemon and lime, punctuated with bergamot and mandarin, warmed by spicy notes of cardamom and nutmeg on a fresh floral jasmine heart that leads to a clean, musky, woody base. The fragrance was launched into the Floris range in 2002 and was inspired by the scent of a warm, gentle breeze while sitting in a Mediterranean courtyard.
Citrus fruit have gone hand in hand with perfumery for centuries, adding vibrancy and zest to fragrance. An energising scent that seamlessly blends with woody, floral and marine notes. It can be sprinkled liberally to invigorate the scent. Its versatility can add a cologne aspect and brighten aromatic blends.
