Stephanotis stammt aus den frühen Tagen von Floris. Ursprünglich wurde es 1796 von James Floris, dem Sohn des Gründers Juan Famenias Floris, komponiert und entstand als Reaktion auf die vielen Hochzeiten der Gesellschaft, die in der Gegend von St. James stattfanden. Traditionell wurden den Blumen im Brautstrauß Bedeutungen zugewiesen. Stephanotis steht für Glück in der Ehe.
